Research Intereststop

I was born in Culver City and was raised in Los Angeles my entire life. I attended Loyola High School in Los Angeles where I developed a strong passion for math and science, community service, and sports. In 2009, I entered UCLA as an undergraduate majoring in Mechanical Engineering and became involved in engineering projects like AIAA AUAV (Autonomous Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles) and AIAA Rocket Project. In addition, I gained a lot of communication and organizational skills working for the UCLA Community Programs Office as a Peer Advisor for Belmont High School, in addition to joining other clubs and organizations. Beginning last summer I interned for GKN Aerospace’s Design Department developing thermal analysis tools for various transparencies such as dimmable windows for the Boeing 737 and the Bombardier Global 7000/8000. In March 2013, I left my internship position and joined Dr. Fei Peng’s Research Group, working on the development of a new single plane illumination microscopy system. My specialties and interests include the mechanical design and manufacturing of mechanical parts and systems and it is something I hope to expand upon through research and my future career.
