Vita

James Lin MD received an Sc.B. in Neural Sciences at Brown University in 1993. After earning an M.D. at Brown Medical School in 1997, he trained in Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston from 1997-2000. He subspecialized in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at MassGeneral and completed fellowship training in 2003.

Research

Current research interests include development of a rapid, reliable, and non-toxic method for insertion of molecular beacons into living cells. The overall aim of this research is to facilitate real-time, innocuous detection of gene expression and mutations. Engineering methods for highly sensitive fluorescence detection and cell handling are of considerable importance and will be emphasized in the latter stages of this project.
